Training & Teaching.

GP Registrar Training

As a training practice we may have doctors working in the surgery who are spending a year training to be GPs. These doctors are fully qualified and experienced in hospital medicine.

Medical Students

The practice is an undergraduate teaching practice, taking medical students throughout their time at the University of Birmingham. Occasionally they may sit in during consultations. Your GP will check if you are happy with this and you have the right to decline, if you wish. Patients with certain medical conditions are invited to take part in teaching medical students. See surgery notice boards for more information.

Other Professional Training

On occasions we also have student doctors, nurses and midwives with us. This is an essential part of their training. Patients will always be informed if the doctor or nurse has a student with them. If you prefer not to have a student present during your consultation please make the staff at reception aware.
